HISTORY
The Black Eagle was built in 1895. The pub was rebuilt towards the end of the Victorian era and to
this day still retains many features from this time such as the Minton tiles on
the bar. The pub was almost closed down in 1988, but was saved when the
current landlord, Tony Lewis, and two partners bought the pub and brought
it back to life.
FOOD & DRINK
The Black Eagle offers a wonderful selection of great food and drink.
We
are renowned for our great selection of ales, which include ever-changing
guest ales from small breweries as well as 4 or 5 permanent more
'familiar' brews.
Our restaurant is equally impressive, offering a mouth-watering selection
of great tasting, traditional home-cooked food. The restaurant area is
situated to the rear of the pub and has a comfortable and relaxed
atmosphere. We recommend making any reservations as early as possible to
avoid disappointment.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.
